My journey with Chilly Dogs began more than twenty years ago, when a sweet Weimaraner joined our family. I wanted him to be part of all our outdoor adventures — even in the coldest Ottawa winters. A neighbour didn’t hesitate for a moment before saying, “Oh my! You have to get a Chilly Dogs coat!”

Not long after, we met the founder, Julie Kelly, in her home and picked out a Great White North coat with red fleece. He looked fabulous — and more importantly, he stayed warm, happy, and comfortable through those long Canadian winters.

Years later, in 2017, Julie and I crossed paths again at my place of business. She shared that she was ready to retire — and my ears perked up instantly. I had always loved the products, respected the brand, and admired what Julie had built. Very quickly, our conversations grew into a lasting friendship that I treasure to this day. Julie continues to cheer us on, generously sharing her support and wisdom. Our “coffee chats” still last for hours, filled with ideas, laughter, and inspiration.

As I reflect on this journey, I feel deeply grateful.
